As a keen runner our founder Matt identified that local running races were using one of two approaches when it came to online entry and race timing. Either, contracting out race entry and timing to expensive apps and services, or using dated desktop based results processing with manual timing. With his background in software development, he felt there had to be a better way.
With smartphones now being essential items in daily life, Matt thought it would be a good idea to be able to have races timed through a mobile device. But timing was just the tip of the iceberg. You can't time without knowing who has entered and you needed someway to manage your races. And so the planning began and Techsportise was born.
Using his experience as a Race Director and former parkrun event director, Matt knew the sorts of challenges that were faced when timing a race, and designed the apps to be easy to use with the ability to correct (inevitable) errors in a way that was simple for volunteers to understand. He also wanted to simply results processing and make it faster, reducing the need to do it on a laptop and added it all in app. Now you can have your results processed and published online by the time you have walked back from the finish line to the podium.
We like to think that Techsportise is by runners, for runners, and we always want to improve our platform. So if you have any ideas that would help make your life easier, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you.
